Zoo Trip

I am so behind on blogging! Trying to get caught up with some picture from Spring Break of Connor's first trip to the zoo.  It was a little tricky getting him to see the animals, unless they were BIG or moving.  Favorite moments had to be watching the Walrus' getting fed and performing tricks and when Connor first noticed the elephants.  His eyes got SO big and he grabbed for me while keeping an eye on the HUGE ANIMALS.  It was pretty fun.  On our way out we went into the gift shop and let him pick something out.   All the way home he carried his little stuffed walrus. :)

1 Year later

 March 2009
One of our first family photo's
 One year later!
What a journey this last year has been!  We had no idea what we were getting into when we had Connor, but we have been so blessed with a happy and healthy little boy.
I remember thinking at the hospital, "Am I allowed to change his diaper?"  When the nurses just left us alone with him...Seriously, I was that unaware of what I was getting into.   I also remember two days after we came home on Easter Sunday, Connor was sleeping, Brendan was sleeping, and I was sitting on the couch (C was in the play pen right next to the couch) wanting to sleep but thinking, "What if he wakes up and we don't hear him...I better stay awake).  Like I wouldn't hear him if he woke up :)
Another classic moment: Connor starts crying in the middle of the night, and I am in the bathroom.  When I come out, Brendan is pacing the room cradling his pillow and "shhhing" the pillow- meanwhile Connor is crying away in his bassinet.
Connor is such an adventurous little boy who is curious about everything! Just today I caught him trying to figure out how to get the balloons from his birthday over the baby gate so he could play with them.  We also took a trip to my old school to wish some friends happy birthday- and he started chasing the kids down the hall- like "Hey wait up for me, I want to play too!"

Colds, colds, and more colds!

Dinner at Aunt Tara's
Love it when he is cuddly! :-)
I love pizza!
Playing with G'pa Lerew and cousin Kailee
Grandpa Jeffreys

After a title like that, I bet you were living at my house. :-)
We have all been battling colds for about a month now.  As soon as one person gets better the next gets sick.  Currently all three of us are feeling pretty run-down.  Hopefully we will all be better soon- in preparation for the BIG first birthday! Can you believe it has been almost one year since Connor's arrival.  Brendan and I can't believe it!  We are so blessed!

6 addictions

I've been tagged by my friend, Audrey to post 6 of my addictions. So, in no particular order, here they are...
1. Reading- it's like breathing...I have to have at least a little time to myself to read everyday (hence my huge reading supply in the bathroom) :)
2. Taco's- or anything that have the make-up of refried beans, cheese, sour cream, salsa and chips.  I could do with or without avocado, lettuce, tomato...all the good stuff :)
3. I don't know if this qualifies as an "addiction" but I love cheesy high school movies.  You know, where everything turns out happy in the end.
4. dark chocolate- the darker the better.  Must be all the good antioxidants.
5. Playing soccer- sometimes I have to drag my butt onto the field but once I get playing- there is such a high.
6.  Hanging with my family-I so miss Connor and Brendan on the days I am working.
Ok- so if you read this.. Steph, Crystal, Stacy and Anne you're "it" and it's your turn to list your addictions :)

The last few days.

Walking with Dad
What's that?
Time to walk with Mom
Hanging out by the garden area.
I want to read this one...
A peaceful moment for George away from Connor pulling her tail
What should I cook?
Brendan trying to put the kitchen together during nap time.

We finally put together Connor's "big" Christmas present.  I have to say that the multiple pieces that we had to cut apart and then screw together discouraged us from doing it before now (And yes, it was made in the USA :).  Connor loves it! He spent a lot of time the last few days cooking, actually I don't know if he was cooking or just loving the freedom to open and close doors and pull things out :)
We've also been enjoying the beautiful weather and spent some time outside.

Connor is getting into everything!

Please note the safety latch- that obviously didn't work!
Vroom Vroom
Love listening to music
Doesn't this smile just "make" your day?
"Look Mom I'm 10 months and don't want to stay in one spot for my picture"

Now that this kid is moving, Brendan and I are trying to stay on our toes :)
This week Connor somehow opened the only kitchen cabinet door with a child safety lock on it. So we had to put new ones on every door.  He also figured out how to climb the stairs.  He wears blue, green, and yellow every day based on the shade the bruises take that day...if anyone has ideas on how to keep him from bumping his head on everything let me know!
He is still a very happy baby and we feel so blessed to have him.
